What is a cash session?

A cash session tracks the cash one cashier collects, from opening their drawer to handing the money over. When it is closed, Skoolyte compares the cash counted with the cash it expected and shows the variance (short or over).

How do I open my drawer?

  1. Pick your campus in the campus selector at the top. A drawer belongs to one campus and that can't be changed once it is open.
  2. Go to Finance → Cash Sessions, enter the Opening float (the change you start with) and press Open drawer.

Every cash payment you collect after that is attached to your open session automatically. A session can stay open over several days.

How do I close my drawer at handover?

On Cash Sessions press Close. Skoolyte shows the Expected in drawer (opening float plus cash collected). Count the cash, enter the Counted cash, who it was Handed over to (e.g. Admin, or a bank deposit slip number) and any notes, then confirm. The difference is saved as the variance.

Where can the admin see all cashiers?

Finance → Cash Sessions lists every session with cashier, campus, expected, counted, variance and status (filter Open / Closed). Press Details to see the payments in a session and the split By campus. Your own collections for today also appear in My collections today.

Do bank transfers and JazzCash payments go into the drawer?

No. Only cash payments are attached to a session. Other methods appear in the day's collection (Fee Management → Today's Collection) but not in the drawer count.
