How do I make a timetable?

  1. Set the defaults in Settings → School Profile → Timetable: periods per day, max consecutive periods for a teacher, break and assembly times. Set school start and end times under Schedule.
  2. Make sure each class has its subjects and teachers (Classes → class → Assign Subject).
  3. Go to Academics → Timetable, pick a class under View Class, and either:
    • press Auto-Generate to let Skoolyte build it, respecting teacher availability, load limits and consecutive-period limits, and optionally assigning rooms, or
    • add periods yourself with Add Slot, or Quick Assign to put one subject on several days at once.
  4. Clone Day copies one day's periods to another.

A teacher is double-booked. How do I find clashes?

Academics → Timetable Conflicts lists teacher and room clashes. View Fix suggests swaps. Where none is found, move a period by hand.

How do I check that teachers aren't overloaded?

Academics → Teacher Loads shows each teacher's periods per week against their limits, with filters for overloaded and underloaded teachers. Limits are set on each employee's profile.

Can I see or print the whole school's timetable?

Academics → School-Wide Timetable, viewed By Class or By Teacher, with Download PDF and Print. A single class's timetable can also be printed from the Timetable page. Teachers see their own periods with Switch to My Schedule.

A teacher is absent today. How do I arrange a substitute?

Academics → Substitutions. Teachers on approved leave for the chosen date are listed with their periods. Only teachers with approved leave appear here, not teachers who were simply marked absent. Press Assign, and Skoolyte offers only teachers who are free in that period and marks who Can teach the subject. When all are covered it shows ✓ All periods covered.

We have summer and winter timings. Do I redo the timetable?

No. Save each schedule as a Timing Profile (e.g. "Summer 2026") from the Timetable page and Apply the one you need. Clone Across Years copies a whole timetable into a new academic year. It clears the target year's timetable first.

Where do I add rooms and labs?

Academics → Rooms → Add Room, with capacity and type (classroom, laboratory, library, ground, office).
